Bio

When Megan is not writing songs with some of Nashville’s most prolific hit songwriters, she is either performing at one of the city’s landmark venues, hop-scotching across the country on acoustical gigs or traveling with her band and delivering spirited, dynamically-packed performances while showcasing her strong vocals and captivating audiences with self-penned lyrics that are relatable. Megan is no newcomer to the Nashville music scene. Her Nashville roots wind back to her grandfather, the late Jerry McBee, who penned songs for many of Nashville’s great country artists. Musically, those roots cross all genre boundaries and can be traced back to the noted hymn composer, Jonathon Edwards and a great-grandfather, once a Vaudeville singer who performed with the likes of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. With a family tree intertwined so deeply with these musical roots, according to Megan, “there simply was no way out…the trail that I absolutely had to follow led me right back to where I started out… straight to Music City…my hometown!”

Megan’s songs are being played on radio stations around the world and she has been featured in several publications including CountryStarsOnline.com, Today’s Country Magazine and in the “Listen Up!” section of Country Weekly Magazine. She’s appeared on the cover of music and entertainment magazines, and most recently as the featured cover artist on Panama City’s “Bay County Blast”. Megan’s show schedule includes fan concerts, anthems and performances for groups of as few as 30 people to over 17 million televised viewers. She’s performed for live audiences exceeding 180,000 in attendance but is equally at home in a “listening room” experience, a Nashville honkytonk or performing in front of tens of thousands of animated NASCAR fans.

In 2007, her Freshman album was recorded at the famed Cash Cabin Studio under the production of Grammy winning John Carter Cash. This initial CD was comprised of songs all co-written by Megan.

Recent performances include; The Cincinnati Reds, The Indy 500, Atlanta Braves, Watkins Glen International NASCAR, Daytona Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, The Allstate Brickyard 400 Sprint Cup Series, The Kentucky Derby, The Kansas City Royals, Tioga Downs Resort and Casino, The Chicago White Sox, Nashville Superspeedway, The Jim Parker Songwriter’s Series Showcase and the famed Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta, Georgia. Megan has performed main-stage with well-known country artists Jason Aldean, Phil Vassar, Heidi Newfield, Jamie O’Neal, Trent Tomlinson, Travis Tritt, Lorrie Morgan, Mark Chestnutt, Delbert McClinton, The Byrds and many others. She has also been a familiar face at some of Nashville’s famous venues such as The Bluebird, The Listening Room, Puckett’s, Tootsie’s and a multitude of the city’s incredible venues! To date, in 2010 she has performed at over 130 events.

In between a hectic writing schedule and a jam-packed show schedule, Megan has just completed her Sophomore album (Co-produced by hit songwriters/producers Danny Wells and Thom Shepherd). The project is constructed of songs that she has co-written, in addition to a singular heart-wrenching ballad “discovered” from one of Music City’s talented hit songwriters. Fans who own the singer/songwriter’s first CD will see a more mature contemporary artist…after all Megan is 4 years older than when her first CD was recorded, and like any artist “worth their salt”, the musical journey is about constant growth and persistent, inventive honing of one’s musical craft. That being said, new and old fans should be instantaneously “drawn in” to songs built on strong 3-part Country harmonies and lyrics that reflect those Southern roots that run so deeply and are such a major part of who Megan is as an artist, a songwriter and an entertainer. Throughout the spring and summer of 2010, songs from the CD were “tested” before live audiences, numbering in the thousands, from coast to coast. Each performance of literally EVERY song on the CD garnered RAVE reviews from the audiences! The CD should be available for purchase in early 2011.
